Fiscal Considerations of Corporate Donations
Fiscal laws allow companies to deduct from their taxable income the value of the donation given to recognized charitable organisations during the year, up to 75% of their net revenue, at both the federal and provincial level. When companies cannot deduct the entire amount of the donations given during the year because they exceed the maximum amount, the balance can be deducted in the following year (up to twenty years in Québec).
