Become a privileged member

Your company is committed to working together to build a more just society. By creating wealth, your company has an important role to play in mobilizing resources and expertise to benefit fragile populations: handicap people in developing countries.

By creating social links, your company is ethically committed as it communicates its values to Handicap International. Working in partnership with the association is above all a way to support a solidarity project that changes the lives of handicapped people in developing countries.

Collaborative commitment

Companies demonstrate their solidarity through concrete action and a well-defined goal. Through a collaborative commitment that includes events both inside and outside the company directly linked to the chosen project, employees benefit from the partnership through new experiences and responsibilities.
It is an opportunity to enhance the image of a citizen-based, socially responsible company. Your commitment provides a strong opportunity to reach a specific goal.

Let’s create our project together

Let’s create common objectives. Let’s build our project together or in association with others. Our partnership can take different forms:
  • financial support through donations contributing to one or more of our organisation’s projects
  • a skill-based partnership which makes staff available to provide services, training, and technical support
  • Gifts in Kind: making assets available according to the specific needs of the organisation
  • staff mobilization: employees and/or social clubs can organise, within or outside your company, an event or other fundraisers to benefit our mission.

Sharing a quality relationship

Handicap International is committed to informing you, step by step, about developing projects, respecting set objectives and monitoring their effectiveness. We are committed to:
  • Publishing a comprehensive report of Handicap International’s activities (e.g. annual activity report)
  • Establishing a final assessment of finished projects, their results, and their impact
  • Communicating with your company and to the general public
  • Updating you on Handicap International’s activities on a regular basis through our website and other communication media

Fiscal Considerations of Corporate Donations

Fiscal laws allow companies to deduct from their taxable income the value of the donation given to recognized charitable organisations during the year, up to 75% of their net revenue, at both the federal and provincial level. When companies cannot deduct the entire amount of the donations given during the year because they exceed the maximum amount, the balance can be deducted in the following year (up to twenty years in Québec).

Effective Financial strategies for investors

For investors, a corporate donation is an effective financial strategy as it offers numerous advantages:
  • significant immediate saving(s)
  • increases the net successional value of a shareholder in favour of its beneficiaries.
